About Alexander Gemmell

I graduated from Guy's Hospital in 1993 and then continued to work at Guy's as a house officer in oral surgery and restorative dentistry. After a further year working in hospitals in London I entered general practice working in Chichester. In January 1999 I returned home to Woodhall Spa and joined Broadway Dental Surgery as an associate working alongside my step father. I became a partner in 2005 and then Principle in August 2009. I enjoy all aspects of general practice and in particular orthodontics; this I find extremely rewarding as I take pleasure from transforming people's dental appearance. I do orthodontic treatment both in practice and at Pilgrim Hospital where I work with the local consultant. I also enjoy the "nitty gritty" of dental politics and I sit on the Lincolnshire Local Dental Committee. My other interest is that of training new graduate dentists and I have been a trainer on the Lincoln Foundation Training Scheme since 2005. I am married to Vicki and have a young son and daughter and love spending my free time with them. I also have a passion for cooking and entertaining and play a little golf when time permits!
