About Michael Amos

Mick is originally from Kent but moved to Yorkshire in 1993 to undertake his undergraduate dental training. He completed his dental degree at Leeds Dental Institute in 1998. After working as a children’s dentist in Australia for a year he returned to Yorkshire to continue his studies in oral surgery and general dental practice and entered specialist orthodontic training in 2007 at the Leeds Dental Institute and York District Hospital. Mick completed specialist training in 2010 and has since worked exclusively in specialist orthodontic practice in the region. In that time, he has developed a keen interest in treating adolescent patients with jaw discrepancies and using discreet orthodontic appliances such as clear aligners and lingual appliances (braces on the inside of the teeth). Mick is married and has a busy family life with four young children who take up most of his spare time. He does, however, find time for the occasional game of golf now that his rugby playing days are behind him.
