About Len D'Cruz
Dr D’Cruz qualified in 1989 from the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. After completing his vocational training in Hertfordshire he bought the practice in 1992 and developed Woodford Dental Care from a one surgery practice to a busy 4 surgery practice.
Dr D’Cruz was appointed as the youngest examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons postgraduate dental exam and is currently an Examiner for the MJDF (Membership of the Joint Dental of the Royal College of Surgeons of England). He is passionate about postgraduate education and has been an accredited Vocational trainer for the London Deanery for many years. The practice is an established training practice for new dental graduates. Dr D’Cruz is a Postgraduate Dental tutor for the Eastern Deanery.
In addition to general dentistry Dr D’Cruz offers orthodontic therapy for children and adults. He has completed postgraduate training and as part of that training was attached to the Orthodontic Department at Queens Hospital in Romford. Dr D’Cruz is a member of the British Orthodontic Society. He is an accredited Clearstep practitioner and provides these “invisible braces” for children and adults.
Dr D’Cruz also works as a dento-legal advisor for Dental Protection Ltd which is the largest indemnity organisation in the world for doctors and dentists. He obtained a Masters in Law from Cardiff in 2003. He also works as a dental practice advisor for two London based NHS Primary Care Trusts.
Dr D’Cruz has written two books “Legal Aspects of General Dental Practice” (published by Elsevier) and co-authored “Understanding NHS Dentistry” (Skate Press 2006). He lectures widely in the UK to small groups and large conferences on medico-legal and ethical matters, risk management and dentistry in the NHS. He writes regularly for the professional dental press.
His hobbies include photography, reading and cooking. He is married to Dr Anne Grew and they have four boys.
