I have been attending the dental surgery at Hampton Wick for nearly 25 years, and my daughters who are now 20 and 18 have been receiving dental treatment there since they were both three years old - so between us we have clocked up 63 years experience in total! We were all disappointed when Mr Traub announced his retirement from the practice in 2008.
However, I am pleased to be able to report that following the change in ownership and management, the high quality of the dentistry has been maintained. Fortunately our experiences so far have been of a fairly routine nature, check-ups, fillings, crowns and visits to the hygienist but we are very happy with the service we have received. The centre is a friendly, pleasant place to visit and we are watching the ongoing decoration with continuing interest. Oh, and the on-site car park is a luxury in the Teddington area, taking one additional level of stress out of a visit to the dentist!

I was very happy at this practice where I had been a patient for about 40 years. Mrs Brown took it over a few years ago. I found Mrs Brown pleasant and she was as sympathetic as anyone could be in dealing with my disabilities. It also became clear that she was very competent. However, she is part-time, there is no second dentist, and the emergency service relies on cancellations or luck. We discussed this and agreed that I could see another dentist if she was not available and I was in significant pain. This system worked well for many months. Problems began when she failed to deal with one extremely painful tooth (later found by the specialist who was supposed to make me a mouthguard to be inflamed). I was told when it flared up to the extent that I couldn't think that she would not even examine it. Her husband who is the receptionist, told me that I was not having a RCT and I should do what I want. This shocked me. I also had difficulties seeing her to replace a filling and onlay that had fallen out. After about five days waiting for a cancellation, and with the teeth hurting, I saw an emergency dentist. Before Christmas, I knew that she would prefer me to find another dentist. I asked for an explanation and it was clear that this was largely based on misinformation. She had a completely distorted idea of who I had seen (very few) and even blamed me for having asked the endodontist for a copy of my X-ray (legal and he did not object). Neither of us knew we required her permission. However, I was not given the chance to clarify or explain, let alone correct the incorrrect information. Had this happened to anyone else, I would have dismissed it and blamed the patient. After all, caring practitioners do not remove patients who follow advice, pay promptly and do not cause a fuss. But it happened to me and if it happens to someone like me, it means no patient is really safe. I really don't know what I did that was so wrong. |

This excellent dentist runs a one person practice and is very popular. The downside is that it's not always easy to get an emergency appointment within 24-48 hours, so you may end up having to go to a Dental Hospital. |

In the past year I have had a dental inplant, porslain veneers and tooth whitening at the surgery. Everything was done with great care and expert knowledge. And NO pain. I'm really pleased to at last have found a dentist whom I can trust. The whole surgery has such a friendly and warm athmosphere. |
