About David Jordan
David Jordan qualified from Queen’s University Belfast Dental School in 1978. He worked for a year as a community clinical dental officer for the SHSSB (Southern Health and Social Services board) in Banbridge, before leaving to take up a position in general dental practice in Southampton.
After a period in a dental practice in Romsey, Hampshire, he returned home to Belfast to set up his own dental practice in September 1983. As the practice grew, he became involved in the training of dental nurses at Rupert Stanley College of Further Education, subsequently renamed, Belfast Institute of Further & Higher Education (BIFHE), and Belfast Metropolitan College (Belfast Met). He also worked part-time in the School of Dentistry.
The Jordan Dental Care practice relocated to its present location in 1988, when the practice was approved as a training practice for the Northern Ireland Vocational Training Scheme in General Practice for recently qualified dentists. David has enjoyed the experience of mentoring and assisting many new graduates integrate into general dental practice.
Having a keen interest in treating anxious patients, David trained in Newcastle University obtaining a Diploma in Conscious Sedation in Dentistry in 2005.
David is an active member of the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses, examining in both the National, and Conscious Sedation Certificates.
David’s particular interests in dentistry are cosmetics and sedation.
David is married with two daughters.
