About Claudia Bortolaia

Dr Claudia Bortolaia was born in Italy and graduated with honours in Dentistry in 1999 at the University of Pisa, Italy. Soon after she started dedicating herself only to Paedodontics and Orthodontics, continuously attending courses to improve her knowledge and skills and remain up to date on the developments in the field. In 2000 she was granted a scholarship to attend a post-graduate course at the Royal Dental College at the University of Aarhus, Denmark, under the direction of the world-wide known Prof. Birthe Melsen. After her return to Italy, Dr Bortolaia started an internship in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Siena, Italy. Her orthodontic training there enabled her to work on patients belonging to every age group and walk of life. In January 2006 she moved to London for family reasons. Dr Bortolaia has published several articles in Italian and international dental journals in collaboration with academics and practitioners and worked as an adjunct professor at the University of Pisa.
