About Bill Whateley

Bill Whateley graduated, BDS (U. Lond), from the Royal Dental Hospital in London in 1971 and joined a large NHS practice in Chichester, West Sussex. In 1973, he and Peggy went to New Zealand where he acted as locum in four very different practices. On returning to England he spent a further two years in Chichester before moving to Torquay in 1980. He left the NHS in 1988 and, in 1996, he moved to his current practice. He has a special interest in Restorative Dentistry, Orthopaedic/Orthodontics and Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMD). From 1994 to 1996 and 1997/98, he was Honorary Secretary of the Pankey Association (UK) most of whose members have attended the Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida, and has been a Trustee of the Association since 1996. He is a member of the BDA, the CranioGroup, the International Association for Orthodontics, the BSSCMD, the Cornwall IDP , the Devon IDP and the Devon Study Club (a peer review group). He is also author of 'A Very Special Team' (BDJ Books 1998) and writes occasional articles on teamwork and management topics.
