Simon is the principal dentist here at Thackeray Dental Care. He has owned the practice since 1997, prior to this having worked in practices in Sheffield, Chesterfield and Doncaster. Simon previously worked in the Orthodontic department of Chesterfield Royal Hospital, and was a Clinical Tutor at the Dental School in Sheffield. He spent three years studying advanced restorative and cosmetic dentistry with the renowned Paul Tipton in Manchester. Simon is heavily involved with the British Dental Association, sitting as a member of its Representative Body, and is also a Branch President for South Yorkshire.

In his spare time, as well as spending it with his wife Claire and son Noah, and labradors Floyd, Fern, and Holly, he is also a musician, having played the drums for many years.

what a lovely practice, I've only lived in Mansfield for a few weeks, but my wife was recommended Dr Thackery by one of her work colleagues, and we have both been very happy with the care and treatment received from him and the team.

I was quite nervous about going in for a routine filling, as i have had bad experiences with dentists and had only just moved here, so i was a little apprehensive. it was silly really because i had absolutely no reason to worry when i went to visit Dr Thackeray, they were so friendly and understanding and I barely noticed when the procedure went on! i was so calm and now have no more pain or fear!
